Ngurah Rai Sports Center will be upgraded to an international sports facility in 2014 to enable it to host more world-class events. The Bali provincial administration will start renovating the sports complex in early 2014 adding new sports facilities, dressing rooms, bathrooms and restaurants to the complex. Made Nariana, chairman of the National Sports Committee (KONI) Bali chapter, said that Rp 95 billion (US$9.85 million) renovation proposal had been submitted to the Youth And Sports Ministry three years ago. However, the ministry did not respond it. The provincial administration has pledged to complete the renovation project, Nariana said.
