0 Man jumps into Ubud’s ravine

A man committed suicide on Tuesday by throwing himself into a ravine in Petulu village, Ubud. Local people organized a search party and eventually found his body 50 meters down the edge of the gorge. The man was identified as Adi Amilia Syah, 29, a native of Tapanuli, North Sumatra, who resided in Jl. Sunset Road, Kuta. 

Antara news agency reported that the man, his wife and their three-year old child were visiting their relative’s house in Petulu when the incident took place. At dawn on Tuesday, Adi quarreled with his wife, Rosalia Harahap, 28. The spat turned violent when Adi hit his wife repeatedly with a piece of concrete. He then screamed for his relative, asking the latter to take Rosalia to hospital before running to the house’s second floor and jumping into the abyss.
