Head of the legal assistance division of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Arteria Dahlan, unveiled the party’s findings of massive violations ahead of the West Java gubernatorial election, where the party’s ticket Rieke Diah Pitaloka and Teten Masduki is one of the participants. Arteria said during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, that as many as 1,878 violations in various forms had been spotted from the beginning of the election process.
Among the violations, according to kompas.com reports, thousands of workers were not given a holiday to cast their votes. In response, Arteria said that the PDI-P would deploy 95,000 volunteers throughout the province on election day, which is tomorrow. Commenting on this, Rieke Diah Pitaloka strongly suggested her supporters to not give up hope. She encouraged them to visit the local authorities to ask for assistance if something went wrong during the election.(dic)
